There are various methods and processes to modify or delete data on TitlePage. This article gives an overview of the process of a complete reload, a block update, and other methods publishers and distributors can use ONIX to maintain their TitlePage catalogue.

Complete reloads
A complete reload is the simplest way to ensure that all titles listed in TitlePage are correct and that no inactive or obsolete records remain in the system.
A complete reload works by adjusting the message note in the header of an ONIX file to contain the text "Complete Reload". This ensures that any record not included in the file will be deleted from TitlePage. It is recommended to do this periodically to ensure that the TitlePage catalogue exactly matches the sender's list of products.

Record resets
A record reset is primarily designed for users of a block update split workflow (for example publisher and distributor) who are unable to provide a single source of the full record. It is also a significantly faster workflow where that is a consideration.
A record reset works by adjusting the message note in the header of an ONIX file to contain the text "Record Reset". This causes the loader to compare the ISBNs in the file to what is on TitlePage, and any missing products will be removed from TitlePage.

Delete notifications
A delete notification is an ONIX product record sent with NotificationType 05 (Delete), which instructs TitlePage to remove an existing title record from the platform and downstream data feeds. It is typically used when a record was supplied in error or needs to be completely withdrawn from TitlePage, and should include a reason for deletion.

ONIX block updates
A block update is an efficient method of supplying TitlePage with ONIX records consisting only of changed data. Usually when an ONIX file is transmitted it contains all the information about the product. Using a block update means you only need to transmit the subset of data that needs to be updated.
Block updates can only be used when updating an existing record on TitlePage and cannot be used for unknown products.

ONIX delta files
A delta file is an update file that contains only the product records that have changed (new, updated, or deleted) since loading the last full ONIX file. Delta files allow TitlePage to efficiently process product records without having to update unchanged products across the entire catalogue.
ONIX full files
A full ONIX file is a complete catalogue delivery that contains the full ONIX product record for every title the sender currently supplies or manages, including both recently updated titles and titles with no changes. It is typically used to initialise a publisher or distributor's TitlePage product list, or to periodically resynchronise it so that the TitlePage catalogue contains the sender's current list of products.
