The TitlePage Data Quality program supports publishers to improve their data by providing weekly updates on a range of metrics. The program is designed to help publishers understand how their data looks from a bookseller's perspective, and prioritise improvements to their data, whether it's enhancing metadata completeness or addressing supply chain issues.
Who this is for
This article is for publishers who want to assess their data quality and access their Data Quality Report or Dashboard.
What is the Data Quality Report?
The Data Quality Report provides a weekly snapshot of the overall quality of your data. It focuses on key metadata fields and supply chain data to provide publishers with actionable insights to optimise metadata and product availability information, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
The report is structured around two weighted scores, both based on direct feedback from booksellers about what matters most to them.
Data Quality Score
Reflects how complete your metadata is across key fields, covering things like descriptions, cover images, contributor details, and subject classifications. The more complete your metadata, the easier it is for booksellers to discover, understand, and confidently order your titles.
Supply Chain Health Score
Reflects how available your titles are and how up to date your supply data is. Booksellers told us that ETAs for unavailable titles are especially important to them, so this is weighted heavily in the score. Titles that are unavailable with no ETA can directly cost you sales.
What to do with the report
The report is designed to be actionable. When you receive it, focus on:
- Any titles flagged as unavailable with no ETA. These are your highest priority.
- Metadata fields that are missing across a significant portion of your list.
- Titles that have not been updated recently.
For a detailed breakdown of every metric in the report and what drives each score, see Interpreting my Data Quality Report.
What is the Data Quality Dashboard?
A more comprehensive view of your data quality scores is available to full members through the Data Quality Dashboard. The Dashboard complements the weekly reports by providing a view of changes over time and benchmarking against the TitlePage and industry average.
